Twelve-year-old April Quezada, a patient at the Maimonides Cancer Center, always dreamed of becoming a K-9 Unit police officer. Recently, that dream became one step closer to reality, thanks to a heartwarming collaboration between Maimonides and the Port Authority Police Department (PAPD).

When she arrived at the Cancer Center for treatment, April was greeted by members of the PAPD who made her an honorary PAPD K-9 Police Officer! She received a plaque and a certificate, and scores of well wishes from our Maimonides staff, EMTs, paramedics, and PAPD officers. Congratulations, April!
